The Skull & Circuits Modular Mixer brings the modular idea into the field of Eurorack performance mixers. Mixing solutions in the modular world are a weird bunch, big clunky and mostly not modular at all. At Skull And Circuits we set out to provide a solution to this issue by coming up with a design that’s expandable and affordable, a mixing solution for the modular artist that can grow with you as your modular journey goes on ( don’t kid yourself, we all know that modular is going to get bigger ) and has the features you need, whatever those may be.
The basic concept is not new, mixing desks have been build in a modular fashion for decades and with a bit of elbow grace we can bring that idea to the modular world. A dedicated buss cable connects all input strips to the master module.

Available modules

SCM-M01
The main mixing module is the core module of your mixer. It’s where the magic of adding all signals together happens. The SCM-M01 is build with expandability and performance in mind. The summing engine is ready for quadraphonic use as well as standard stereo usage and all features are implemented for stage or studio.
Next to the main mix output, a monitor output is provided which uses a stereo mix down from the quadraphonic main out. When using the Solo mode, the monitor output will reflect that by outputting the solo’d channel, or channels, while the main output will remain unaffected. The solo is build to be free of clicks and plops when activating or deactivating.
The phones level can be used to set the level of the headphone outputs, those are a stereo mixdown of the quad main outputs as well. A separate cue level is implemented to protect your ears when PFL (Pre Fader Listening) – also called CUE – is active.
Since the SCM-M01 is the core of your mixer it offers a plethora of connection options on the back where you can connect output modules, aux modules, VU meters and off course, the main mix bus.
Width : 4HP
Depth : 63mm
+12V current draw : 68mA
-12V current draw : 60mA

SCM-O01
The SCM-O01 output module offers a way to connect your modular mixer to the outside world through 6.35mm jack. It offers main output for the quadraphonic signal (in used in stereo, Front and Back will output the same stereo signal), monitor output and headphone output.
Width : 8HP
Depth : 45mm
+12V current draw : 45mA
-12V current draw : 46mA

SCM-O02
The SCM-O02 output module offers a way to connect your modular mixer to the outside world through mini-jack. It offers main output for the quadraphonic signal (in used in stereo, Front and Back will output the same stereo signal), monitor output and headphone output.
Width : 4HP
Depth : 40mm
+12V current draw : 45mA
-12V current draw : 46mA

SCM-I01
The SCM-I01 offers a basic mono input channel strip packed with functionality: PFL, 2 aux sends (one pre/post switchable), signal indicator, panning, level, solo and mute. The solo and mute circuits are designed to be free of clicks and pops when engaged which makes this module perfectly suitable for performance use.
Width : 4HP
Depth : 40mm
+12V current draw : 25mA
-12V current draw : 18mA

SCM-I02
The SCM-I02 input module offers a cheap and easy way to add 4 mono inputs to your mixer. With just level control, VU meter connectors and direct out connectors it offers the most basic set of controls. But sometimes you don’t need all the bells and whistles and a simple input will do.
Width : 4HP
Depth : 40mm
+12V current draw : 0mA
-12V current draw : 0mA

SCM-I03
The SCM-I03 is designed as a stereo effect return, but can be used as regular stereo or mono input as well. It offers a basic level control and a 6db gain button for when you use external FX units ( like pedals or 19 inch rack effects ) that operate at line level. It shares it’s VU meter output with the direct output.
Width : 4HP
Depth : 40mm
+12V current draw : 55mA
-12V current draw : 41mA

SCM-A01
The SCM-A01 connects to the core SCM-M01 via a 4 core cable and offers level control over the aux channel outputs as well as a subtle signalindicator. If you want extra monitoring, VU connectors are available at the back of the module to connect dedicated VU meters.
Width : 4HP
Depth : 40mm
+12V current draw : 16mA
-12V current draw : 15mA

SCM-V01
2HP VU meter which can be used everywhere in the system. It can be hooked up to individual outputs, inputs throughout the system. The VU meter offers 2 different readouts, on the left you find a Vpp (Voltage Peak to Peak) readout, on the right side you find a readout in db for Eurorack audio levels ( 0db = 10Vpp).
Width : 2HP
Depth : 18mm
+12V current draw : 103mA
-12V current draw : 33mA
