This kit contains all components, PCB and front panel to build the Vactrol VCF-1. A 12db Low-Pass filter with a unique character. The vactrols are DIY as well, it’s easy and gives a unique character to the filter.
The build guide can be found here.
This is a kit, not a fully build product — think of it as IKEA for the modular – and requires you to know how to handle a soldering iron as well as having basic knowledge identifying and orientating electrical components. Some soldering experience is recommended. It’s not a complex build, and easy to troubleshoot, so it’s certainly suitable for DIY startes.
What you’ll be needing to build this successfully:
- A soldering iron
- Some solder
- Wire cutters
- Wire stripper
- A multimeter isn’t necessary but can be handy to verify resistor values.
- An oscilloscope isn’t necessary, the filter can be easily tuned by ear, but it feels way more ‘pro’ using a scope.
- An Eurorack compatible power supply (+12v/-12v)
Built time: Approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour.
