You can contact me via info@skullandcircuits.com. You’ll find some common answers here already.
Can I order PCB’s/Panels/Kits from you?
Yes, there’s a shop on this site. Checkout via a variety of options (Paypal, credit cards, …). Shipment is possible worldwide.
I mailed/messaged/facebooked/reddited/instagrammed you, but you don’t reply?
Please have some patience or send me a mail ( a second one if need be ). I prefer mails as it’s easier to keep track of then the dozen or so direct messaging systems that are around by which people send me messages. It really can get confusing. I’m not making a living from S&C so I still have a day-job and *gasp* even a social life, and really, sometimes I don’t feel like it. As a result, time to answer mails can sometimes be limited, but every week or 2 I will get to the bottom of the mailbox and answer them all. So don’t panic, you have not been ignored.
I want to order something and it’s out of stock?
I strive to keep my stock levels up, but yeah, sometimes that doesn’t work out. If you want to order something that’s currently not in stock you can drop me a mail and I get back to you.
My order was incomplete. 🙁
Sometimes this can happen. I do all assembly by hand and it’s no small task to keep track of all components that go into a kit. If you happen to receive a kit that’s missing components, let me know. I’ll send you the missing components as soon as possible.
My module isn’t working, help me.
I give some support for failed builds, but what I can do remotely is limited. Troubleshooting is part of the build process. I seldom do builds that work first time around, it’s not a shame. however, It’s of vital importance that you do have some common sense and logical reasoning skills when attempting to DIY synths or it will be a very frustrating and difficult process. If all fails, you can send your module in for me to look at, shipping is on you though.
My module is broken, can it be repaired?
Sure thing. If under warranty and it breaks under normal usage I will repair the module or replace (whatever is appropriate) free of charge. Damage due to user error will be charged (eg, you drove over it with a truck).
I strongly believe in consuming less as a way to tackle our environmental issues. Therefore I mostly use through hole components and provide full schematics so any capable technician can repair a module when it fails, even if that’s 50 years from now and I’m long gone.
Why are you doing this?
I’ve started building DIY-ing a few years ago with no knowledge whatsoever about electronics. I learned everything I know about it from various places around the internet. I just wanted to give something to other people who’re building their own modules and are tinkering with synths.
Why are you setting up shop?
I love doing the DIY thing but developing new modules is a costly thing. All those components really add up. As a way to finance it all I started selling some of the modules I build.
Are you an electrical engineer?
No. Not even close. Can’t you tell I really don’t have a clue what I’m talking about most of the time? I’m mostly into making music with these things. I’m aware there are plenty of stupid things in the schematics I make and that there are probably a lot of better/faster/cheaper/simpler/safer ways to accomplish my goals. My main purpose though is to make things work, even if that’s sometimes only barely, not for them to be marvels of engineering. I’m always interested in receiving constructive feedback for anything I’ve posted as I like to get better at these things.
Can I get the Ki-Cad/gerber/… files?
No. I won’t distribute those. I have everything that’s intended for distribution up on the page.
Are you on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Tinder, …
Not all of them, but if you’re social network inclined. Here are the appropriate links:
